Prof Evwierhoma for AA-WIC maiden lecture

The Association for the Advancement of Women in Culture (AA-WIC) holds its maiden annual Public Lecture on Wednesday October 19th, 2016 in the Main Exhibition Hall, National Theatre, Lagos. The Lecture titled “Nigerian Women in Development: A Rethink of the Socio-Cultural and Political Imperatives” will be delivered by Professor Mabel Evwierhoma.
A feminist theatre writer with many publications to her credit, Professor Evwierhoma has served in different capacities as a trainer and manager both within the public and Non-Governmental Organisations and currently the Head, Department of Theatre Arts, University of Abuja, Nigeria.
According to the Interim President of AA-WIC, Mrs. Brigitte Yerima, this Inaugural Lecture which is relevant to all productive female workers in Nigeria especially in the culture sector will also feature the exhibition of outstanding cultural works of Nigerian women.
Inaugurated in June 2016, AA-WIC provides a platform for articulating the concerns of women in the culture industry; promotes a healthy relationship between women in the different cultural industries; and creates awareness of the activities of the different cultural industries who are members. 
AA-WIC is also an avenue for training and empowerment of its members in order to ensure that they meet international best practices and assists its members on networking and advocacy over cultural matters.
